Deep in Heidelberg

Having entertained Sam for a couple of days already, I got another visitor to Heidelberg, Willy Eng. Arriving late friday night and hungry as hell, Wil had a religious "kebap" (kebab) experience from the place on the Hauptstraße. We hit a number of night spots in Heidelberg, including the rockin' Exteinez (spelling?) which had pretty much the leader of the Heidelberg Hells Angels as the DJ (huge biker guy making up for his front bald patch with a really long grey mullet). He was actually quite nice (or drunk) and was keen to chat with us. Sam and I got a photo with him, post ACDC track.

On Sat, we climbed the stairs, the hard way, to the schloß (castle) and enjoyed the great view from there. The huge wine barrel was a highlight for those two alcoholics. The castle is breath taking every time I see it from the town.

Sat night my friend Sebastian and his mates were intending on heading to "Deep" the new nightclub. From our experience with all the bars in Heidelberg, in comparison, it was something very different. This place had a dance floor, neon lights, large dj booth and fancy drinks with fancy prices. €18 for 3 gin and tonics!

Deciding to get there early as we heard about their strict door policy on no sneakers (Sam and Wil were packing light, packing sneakers) we arrived to be greeted by the door bitch complete with fake folder holding the "guest list".

The only way to deal with a bad situation was to drink, and drink we did.
We ran into Sebastian's friends but the man was no where to be seen. Apparently they didn't let him in, no idea why because the place wasn't packed and Sebastian is a nice looking guy! Maybe it was the shoes. :) After a few hrs of carving it up on the dance floor, we stumbled out into the cold German night.

We woke late the next day, Amanda slightly hungover but with a headache from a gin we slipped in. Sam was hungover but ok, Wil was struggling, so badly he went for a walk to the Christmas Market to get a Kartoffel Puffer. With it having done nothing to help his situation, he faithfully turned back to "the kebap", apparently his saviour. Hilarious!
