Trespassing - Crime and Punishment

So I posted a message on the St Petersburg Hospitality Club page and a guy (Ura) msged me. So I met up with him and he took me on an architectural tour of St Petes. It was very interesting and great to meet a local. We then went to a bar called Tsynic (Cynic) and met his mate Ivan. Nice guys who were really proud of their city and very into improving their English. Though it was difficult trying to communicate, as their spoken English was not as good as written (email), I was happy to help and also learn some Russian too.

Earlier on in the day I did the Crime and Punishment walk and checked out Roddy’s apartment and the apartment of the Old lady he kills. I wasn’t able to get into the stairwell, but with Ura and Ivan, we went again and got in. I managed to crack the code of the lock (Code 237!!) and we climbed the stairs to the 3rd floor to check it out! A highlight for me – trespassing!

After that we hit more bars and managed to tap into some local culture, some drinking and dancing to rock & roll! They had a good time I think, and I represented Aussies well by out drinking 2 Russian boys!!! (No danger of me getting wasted, they were total light weights.)
