Pas de la Casa - Andorra

2006/01/27 - 2006/01/30 I was invited on a ski trip with Victoria and some of her work colleagues from PWC.

We all flew to Barcelona, boarded a huge huge bus to Andorra - a town called Pas de la Casa. The pistes were right in town and it was great!

I hired a board through http://www.snowrental.net/rent-skis.asp

Photos of the trip are available on http://www.ringo.com/i.html?i=126803930x926236

The group was great and consisted of Dave (who organised most things), Geoff, Victoria, Cassie, Zsuzsa, Pete, Chris, Joff, Debbie, Stuart, Susan, Tessa, Jim and me!

That weekend it absolutely dumped so on Sat, they closed the lifts. On Sun, they opened only a couple of lifts (so they wouldn't have to refund lift tickets) and it was carnage! Everyone was all over the place.
Vic and I took it easy, did some shopping, some sleeping, eating. It was lovely.
There was so much snow, they had to bring in trucks and truck the stuff out of town.
Also the roads were closed for a day so many people were stranded at the airport, whilst we were stranded in town.

Andorra was great for all that as it is a) tax free! b) between Spain and France so the cuisine was great! (If you're into cheese, there was a lot of cheese.)

Unfortunately, there was a stomach bug going around and it managed to take out a few people during out time there. Poor Stuart had to be left behind for a day as he was too ill to board the plane. I hear he recovered well.

So after only 2 days of boarding (5 days in total ever!) I managed to link some turns and do some proper boarding!! I was delighted.

General Rating: *** (Too much snow!!)
Repeat Visit: **** (Bit of a trek to get there as you need to hire transport.)

So much snow!
